Breck's Birthday Celebration: Part 1

April 26th
Breck's Birthday!
Dad woke this little sleepy head up in the a.m for a big hug & kiss before work..
and to bring him out to a room full of

colorful balloons..

streamers...
and a birthday sign!

All for the birthday boy!

Even streamers into his bedroom!
And what for breakfast?
A birthday cookie on a stick with frosting and sprinkles of course!
While watching Mickey Mouse on his "rocket"!
Then he got to do one of his favorite things...
take a bubble bath!
{wearing his bubble birthday hat}

We were going to wait to open gifts until dad got home,
but someone snuck a gift while mom wasn't watching and found....

a superhero cape and mask!

Then EVERYONE had to try it on....

If you didn't know...
Breck shares his birthday with his aunt "nugget" Stacie
{how fun is that}

So every year I get a picture of these two...
and
this is 2012's picture!

Jerod came home from work early to hang out with the birthday boy.
Jerod and I decided to each get him a gift on our own and NOT tell each other what we got till Breck opened it.

So I get him his gift, wrap it up pretty, and anxiously wait for Jerod to get home!
Jerod arrives home and tells Breck to come downstairs to open his gift...
which is under a blanket {niceeee}.
Breck lifts the blanket,
and what do' ya know...
it's a t ball set!
So I get my gift {wrapped all nice},
let Breck rip the paper to find
a T-BALL SET!
We got the same gift....how funny is that!

After we went outside to hit a few balls we had our special supper!

We decided to make it a tradition to have breakfast for supper on birthday's from now on:
with pancakes, sausage, and hash browns!
{seems weird,but we NEVER have breakfast for dinner}

It was the most delicious meal ever.
Maybe because I love breakfast,
or maybe because we didn't eat till 8:00 p.m since we had a bit of pancake making trouble...
they are hard to make!!
{my dad always made it look so easy....tossing out Mickey Mouse pancakes with ears, eyes, and mouths}
we were lucky to have a semi round edible one!

Then it was time for CUPCAKES!
We sang happy birthday...
he blew out his candle...
and devoured his cake.

Breck played super hero for a little while longer...

with his crazy dad!

Then it for this two year old to go to bed.

He didn't fight it tonight...
he was pooped!

Happy Birthday to my lil' man!

Promise

This little boy is growing up WAY to fast!

I have to make a promise to myself
to start blogging more consistently
to keep Breck's online journal up to date.

Hold it to me...people :)

What my ONE year old is up to :)

One long post UPDATE!
What have we been up to these days...which led to lack of blogging?
We'll tons of stuff...
I just can't remember!
So here's what this little guy has been doing to keep all of us busy.

Playing in his tent!
He got this tent for Christmas from his aunt & uncle...
so it's nothing "new"
but lately...
IT'S a FAVORITE!

We often hide in there when it's time to put on our p.j's and I drag him out my his cute little feet!
It's filled with blankets, pillows, and a flashlight.
Whenever ANYONE walks visit,
they must go in his tent with him "with me, with me"

We lay inside with the lights off...
sing "bear hunt" and make scary noises while holding the flashlight up to our faces.

It was fun,
while it lasted!
The boy DESTROYED it! (while dad was inside ha ha)
So now we are on the lookout for new posts for our tent :)

We also LOVE to help with dishes!
Any reason to climb up on the chairs.
And I'm so lucky to have two boys that just "love" doing dishes :)

It was also fun,
until this boy...
grabbed the pizza cutter!

I'm pretty sure his face says it all!

We may have a musician on our hands!
And I don't think it will be Jerod ;)

Jerod got a guitar for Christmas about five years ago..
and is finally able to play us some songs!
Breck just adores his dad when he brings out the guitar!

But, when dad starts to sing he says "stop it"! ha ha
It's because Jerod does this weird voice when he sings and it drives me crazy.
SO I have always said to him "stop it"!
Breck took this cue and now uses it...it's hilarious!

Still a great napper!
No more crib...yup, we put him on the kitchen floor with a rug as his blanket :)

Joking! But he prefers it!
Doesn't that look comfy :)

We still love our skeleton p.j's that glow in the dark!
Who wears them just for Halloween...not around here.
Wind down time
means
laying on the floor next to dad,
RELAXING!
Like real men do :)

That is what this busy 1 year old is up to!
(I can only say that for eight more days)

Easter 2012

Spring break for the kids this year was the week before Easter weekend
so they came to my house and we colored our eggs.

We had eggs from the store & eggs from Julian's farm...
some white, some brown, some yellow, and even a blueish one!

We decided to try a different method of coloring this year...
found on (my love) PINTEREST.
It was a bit messy...
But very hands on
and each egg was very unique!
Here's  how:
*wear gloves
*dip a paper towel in vinegar and ring out

*wrap the egg in the towel

*squirt different colors of food coloring allover the towel

*unwrap egg
Ta-da
Tie Dyed Eggstravaganza!

Breck wasn't real interested.
He would rather eat M&M's!

And when he got even more bored..
and the M&M's were gone...
we had some yogurt too :)
(when in doubt...feed them...right?!)

Maybe he'll have more fun next year!
Until then,
I'll enjoy coloring eggs!
We also made these fun Easter S'Mores for the cousins!
Here's how:
Crush 1 C. Graham crackers
Then add Peeps
Pour in 1 1/4 C. Chocolate Chips
1/3 C. Brown Sugar
Add tag that says:
To make pour all ingredients in a bowl.
Cut up bunnies into small pieces
Melt 1/2 C. butter & 1/4 Tsp. Vanilla
Mix together
Pat into 9x9 greased pan
Bake 350 15 minutes
Cool. Cut. Enjoy!
On Easter we went to church as a family...
(It doesn't happen to often and here is why)

Breck made it through half of the service until he flung a toy at the lady in front of us and his dad swooped him up and ran to the back where they "im"patiently waited for the service to be done :)

After the most delicious lunch of ham, potatoes, buns, carrots/dip, and snicker salad
the kids had their Easter hunt to find their baskets!

I had them running from the front, to the back, to the front about 10 times!
And throughout the hunt they had to do silly things such as...
do the hokey pokey,
give each other hugs,
wear scarves, glasses,
and hats!

(I was suppose to put hats out and forgot...SOoo since they were in the "playhouse" where g'pa stores his flower pots for the season...they decided to wear flower pots on their heads!)
And in the end...
they found their baskets
filled with goodies!
Cute basket's huh!  Got them Thirty One :)
(I can set you up for next year if you want ha ha)

Breck was to busy sitting on the lawn mower at the time to dig through his basket
but I'll let you know..
his three boxes of fruit snacks the bunny gave him
ARE ALREADY GONE!
Happy Easter!
