Spooktacular days...

are in full swing around the Barrick household...
as we count down the days till
HaLlOwEeN.
This is the banner I made to help celebrate!
It was SO easy...
and SO fun!
It will be perfect for our little
Halloween Bash we are hosting Thurday afternoon
.................................................
After school I have had great helpers
to make a batch of oatmeal chocolate chip cookies!
Even though they ended up looking like pancakes,
they tasted delicious!
The beautiful fall weather is still letting us enjoy playing outside!
Breck has been wearing his Halloween costume the whole week
half his idea/half mine!
He wants to put it on then walks around growling at us.I want to get more use out of it since he won't be able to wear it to daycare or music class!
..........................................
Today we wore it to Walmart to pick up milk, get out of the house, and take a break from football...
Everyone who walked past us pointed, laughed, and commented on my little dragon as Breck batted his eyes at them and flashed them his dimples!
LOVES attention...just like  his dad {wink, wink}
This morning
AFTER
breakfast....
we had Halloween cupcakes!
Jerod walked in on us licking orange frosting!
I think even Breck was confused with eating cupcakes at 9:30 a.m!
but, got over that quick!
I thought it would be something fun to do,
since Breck was under the weather {high temps, cough, not eating much}
for most of Friday & Saturday
but, woke up this morning in a much brighter mood!
And we ate every last crumb!

Tonight we FINALLY carved our pumpkins!
Last year Breck was six months old...so this was "really" his first time helping carve pumpkins!
He wasn't quite sure at first.
But then he watched his idol dad,

and became a natural!

We gave him a plastic play knife,
and he pretended to cut pumpkins just like we did!

He was so funny.
{here he jabbed it in and left it in the eye hole}

He was so proud of himself.

Then he took a quick taste of the pumpkin guts...
and decide
pumpkin carving wasn't for him.
He left the table to sit his rocking horse and sing "heeehaw" as we finished carving!
Mine {plain old jack-o-lantern} Brecks {Spooky potato head pumpkin} Jerods {just plain weird}

We tried to get pictures of him with the pumpkins,
but he was busy pulling out the arms,nose & eyes!
*Above: Jerod said "Breck, look, a bird" and he looked up, but way to high for a good shot!
.....................................

Tomorrow night is the BIG
trick-or-treat night!
And hopefully we will get some good family pictures
and
more of my cute little spooky dragon!
