It's official.
The summer is booked.
Every weekend.
Even almost everyday of the week we have something going on.

I love summer,
and I should have expected it to be like the last summers
weddings, weddings, weddings! EVERYONE is getting married
and I love it.
but some days I wish it were winter.
NOT for the cold & snow, but for lazy days of rest
and the less busy schedules!

Ok the real problem is...
I want to do EVERYTHING, but time doesn't allow.

I am going to admit, I haven't been the best bridesmaid or friend.
And between our families & starting our own family
we are BUSY.
So unfortunately I can't make it to all the bridal parties, showers, events...
but I PROMISE I am working on a special gift for you girls!!

oh boy, what have I gotten myself into ;)
I'm not the most crafty, but my sister is...OH STACIE...I NEED SOME HELP!

Doctor says you should be

After Breck's Baptism at the church we invited our family & friends

my WONDERFUL mother made all this WONDERFUL food.

Yes, this is a post just about food! But I'm including recipes because

someone asked for one & I forgot to give it to her! Plus these are EASY

recipes for all you ladies out there...even you Shannon ;)

Fruit Bowl

with only my fav's

Grapes, Apples, & Watermelon

Chicken Bow Tie Salad

1 (16 ounce) package bow tie noodles
6oz dried cranberries
1 bottle of Kraft Poppy Seed dressing

1/4 c almonds/ or (peanut allergie...dried pumpkin seeds)

2 Large cans of chicken or 2-3 chicken breasts prepared and shredded

ORIENTAL BOK CHOY SALAD
1/2 c. butter

2 tbsp. white

2 pkgs. Ramen noodles (broken up), do not use flavor packet

1 sm. pkg. slivered almonds

2 lbs. bok choy lettuce/or a head of cabbage(chopped coarsely)

In large skillet melt butter over medium heat.

Add noodles, almonds and sugar.

Stir all the time until lightly browned.

Set aside to cool to room temperature.

Just before serving, break up the crunchy mixture,

add to bok choy, pour dressing over, mix and serve.

DRESSING:
3/4 c. vegetable oil

1/4 c. red wine vinegar
1/2 c. white sugar

2 tbsp. soy sauce
Mix well and chill until ready to use.

Chicken Salad Sandwiches

1 Large can of chicken

sprinkle 1 tsp paprika

2-3 Tb honey

2-3 Tb mayo

1/4 c almonds (peanut allergie...roasted pumpkin seeds)

Mix together...add more honey to sweeten, or mayo to make creamier

Breck's Baptism 6.27.2010

This last Sunday Breck got baptized at Zion Luthern Church!

The day could not have gone better...

the service was nice

Breck was fussy UNTIL he got the water poured on his head

the weather was amazing

the family & friends that joined us & supported us was amazing

and the food fantastic...(has it's own seperate blog...to come)

LATE father's day tribute

Breck LOVES his daddy.
and so do I.
We are so lucky to have him!

Jerod comes home from work
&
immediately needs his Breck time!
I think he is jealous I get to be home with
him all day long...
& I'm so lucky I get to do it!

Snuggle time. In the mornings when we bring
Breck into bed w/ us to snooze "just a little longer"
Breck cuddles up to us...
then he has to maneuver his little tiny hands around
till he finds our faces before falling back to sleep!

His newest thing is to
squish his face as close as he can to ours,
so we are nose to nose! Then drifts to sleep.
The best part is when I open my eyes....
he is staring back at me with his big blues!
Makes me laugh.

The other day though I woke up to him sucking on my nose...
hmmm. that's quite a wake up call! ha!

When Jerod gets home from work they have
their "man talk"
very serious stuff I tell ya!
and then Jerod kisses his nose over and over
while Breck flashes him a smile!
Sooooooo cute. Melts me.
Jerod prolly loves that I'm telling you all his secrets!
Worth spilling.

So happy to be celebrating Father's Day this year

with my special man

and my lovable baby boy!

Surfer dude

We got invited to a friends place to go swimming for the afternoon!
So we had to wear our swim gear...surfer shorts and top!
Breck was looking so handsome...
I think he knew it too!
Flashes us a BIG smile
plus he just LOVES his big cousin's & all the attention they give him!

What a little smoocher!
Slowly getting sleepy!
Then we got mad because we don't know what to do with ourselves when we are that tired! but even that face is adorable!
Then....we were off to lala land!

What a ruff day for a little sufer dude!

By the way. It ended up raining, then getting cold out. But the kids still swam

since the pool was heated..while we sad there freezing our butts off! and

Breck slept!

hmm 75 degrees windy

yesterday a woppin' 90 degrees and humid! maybe next time

we'll have better weather for a sunny swimming day!

This past weekend we went to a friends house for his 30th
birthday bash! We had fun celebrating with delicious food,
beverages & ended the night with a campfire.
We brought up the "old" times with my old roommates
& definitely made some "new" in which we can't discuss sober! ha!

Jerod & I were lucky enough to hang out, have a couple cold
ones, while our boy slept like an BABY! And the Baalson's
(Missy) was kind enough to drive...because
SHE's EXPECTING her 1st in December! We are so happy
for them..and can't wait to meet baby boy :) Well maybe!
Boy to play football & ruff n' tuff w/ Breck
or Girl to be his girlfriend! So many girls for him to choose from
these days!

Oh I also forgot the entertainment they had for the event....

note:after a couple Skinny Girl Margarita's
and she informed me, the name means nothing to her! ha!

Getting all geared up! Elbow pad's...check check
Knee pads...check check
Helmet...check! and off she went!

Then this little cutie..probably 6/7 years old asked to take
her rollerblades for a spin. Said she uses her mom's sometimes.
Emily asked her if she wanted the pads...
she replied with a strange look at Em "no, I don't need them"
bha ha!

oh and Mike...you are one lucky man!

A smile or two!

Just in the last week (so 7 weeks old for my records) Breck started
to smile & coo!

He gives us the BIGGEST grins!
and VERY serious conversations are had.

The funniest thing is he smiles at almost ANYTHING you say!
As long as you talk to him in a high tone
(Jerod has a hard time with this, so he talks to him as low as possible)
One thing he thinks is so funny is when Aunt Stacie talks to him about
"how stupid horses are"! Not really..or "how little boys smell like wet dogs"
it's pretty funny when he
flashes his grin!

Breck also sticks out his tongue when he watches you do it...
and he has also laughed for us!
Such a fun little boy!

This summer Jerod & I have joined a co-ed volleyball league!
We thought it would be fun to do something TOGETHER...
since he has many-a-hobbies...as for me...
is lounging a hobby?
So we play with two other couples Wednesday nights
~we are 1-1...not bad~
Our team is F-U-N, not to serious, but definitely want to W-I-N!

This also gives grandma Shirley & Aunt Stacie a chance to visit
with Breck...one problem...the fight of "who gets him" ha!
I told them to duke it out :) He is loved. & his parents get a night out!

BTW...this is the closest to me EVER playing volleyball!
and as you can see...im the one in the far left taking a
break to have a sip! Nicccccccce.
Oh cabin, we will see you soon!

It's all about SLEEP

For Breck that is...
for his parents...not so much
fHe loves to sleep in our bed.
Bad..I know. Do i care. Nope.
The other day he was still sound asleep when Jerod got up to shower...
then i got up to get dressed & decided to make the bed...
with him in it!
Jerod came out of the bathroom to find him like this
& thought it was pretty funny, so he took pictures!

This is Breck being put down for a rest..

he's sound asleep in my arms until he is put down on his back in his crib,

then his eyes pop right open!

And the other picture...

are just his cute little feet that i needed to post!

And this is Breck being put down for a nap on his belly..
He's out.

But..your not "suppose" to put them on thier tummies till they can roll over themselves...so this is only a "day thing"

although Im convinced he would sleep more then two hours a night

if it was a "night thing"!
