This weekend we had a house full of visitors....
College ladies:myself, Tara, Meghan, and Shannon.
After two years (Shannon/Mike's wedding) of not seeing each other, us college ladies had a sleep over along with our little people.
We made a trip to the Willmar pool then pizza and hanging out/catching up!
Calvin came to play w her son Kaleb and Breck played (was jealous of) her lil man Cam! We missed out on seeing our buddy Arlo, but was under the weather so stayed home with his dad.
Like always we were sad to say goodbye...but promised we would TRY harder to see each other sooner!

Strike!

Last week on a rainy day we went bowling since our local center has free bowling for k-12th grade everyday from 2-6!
Great deal...
And so much fun!
It was Brecks first time bowling.
His first game first frame was a spare
And second game first frame was a strike!!
Breck had A LOT of extra help too.
The best was the last few frames Breck was over it....
So being the clown he is
He decided to use his head to push the ball down the lane :)

My little scooter...

Breck got a scooter for his birthday and just recently learned to ride it
after watching Calvin ride his new scooter he got for his birthday too.
Now he's on the go go go!
I recently took a trip to the Albertville mall and to have lunch with a good friend and her cute baby boy. On the way home I looked back to a little boy snoring and found this....
He slept like this all the way home!!

The other night while camping out at the lake I was putting this boy to bed in the cabin,
I noticed that he falls asleep by putting the blanket over his head!
I told my mom about it and she laughed and told me that is exactly what my brother used to do!
Soooooo funny.
Sooooo much in common (looks and acts)
Soooo scary....for me!

Howdy partner.......

Lately we have wanted to wear our cowboy boots everywhere!
To the ball games
Parks to play

The best is that they were Calvins when he was a wee man and they are two sizes to big!!

PS

I love how blogger on iPod post pictures in any random way they want!!

Picture of Jerod....

NEED computer soon...going nuts!

I guess you readers need to put the puzzles together ;)

Fathers Day weekend

This weekend we made a trip to Mankato to celebrate a friends 30th birthday!
It was great...dinner out, stayed at a cabin, boat rides and bonfires!
(I thought these pictures of him sneaking into our picture explains just who is...a big dork we love! Or maybe we just love hanging out with his wife and two adorable kids with a new little one on the way!)

On Sunday the boys hit a round of golf at North Links in North Mankato before hitting the road for home. ALWAYS hard to at bye.

That night we had dinner with my dad then a stop at the lake to see Jerod's dad then home for snuggles, books, then bed.
We ended up waking up Breck n hour later because of tornado sirens going off then a 2nd snuggle time and back to bed!
Always a busy entertaining weekend :) I heart summer!!

Happy fathers day to a couple best dads & grandpa Tommy's I know!!!

Picnic

Today we had a picnic lunch at Lake Ripley Memorial Park.

It's kind of a bummer that
a). The beach area had chiggers and isn't kept up like it should be
b). The playground equipment is older then dirt, not kid friendly at any age, and is/ looks dangerous.

It's such a nice play to go for a picnic and cool of with the lake breeze.

I remember loving to play on the ole anchor and army truck just as much as they did today. Just wish for a better park for our kids and community....
Well some wonderful friends/parents are doing just that!!!!
A petition is being signed to have a community built playground (like the amazing one in Spicer)!

Singing in the rain

Rainy days mean

Umbrella
And a whole lot of fun!

Just an FYI

This boy
Melts me

(if you couldn't tell)

Cooling off with a car wash!

The kids informed me today that we like to have a lemonade stand this summer...
That's do..able!

Then they added with a car wash..
Not so sure about that!

Running around chasing each other with the hose for hours + a semi clean car = win win!

Strawberry Pie

We picked three buckets full of strawberries...
gave grandma one bucket,
made yummy treats with one bucket,
and
only have one bucket left!

So here is the pie recipe I used:
About 30 strawberries stemmed and cleaned
place in a bowl and add 1/2 C. sugar
place in fridge for 1 hour.

Crust
2 C.flour
2tsp salt
1 Tb sugar
1 C. sugar (cold)
cut butter into the dry ingredient
Add cold water (1/4 C. at a time) until formed into dough
form into four balls for four crusts (or two pies)
place in fridge for 30 min.

When ready: roll out dough and press into pie pan
add strawberry mixture
roll out dough and place on top or cut into strips to make it fancy like!

Bake 350 for about 40 minutes!
Let cool.
Eat!
place

Strawberry cream cheese ice cream

2c strawberry
1/2 of 8 oz cream cheese softened
1 c milk
1c whipping cream
1/2c sugar
1tsp vanilla

Place berries in bowl and mash w potato masher. Set aside

In large bowl beat cream cheese w mixer till smooth. Add 1/2c milk and best till combined. Add mashed berries. Remaining milk cream sugar vanilla. Beat until combined. Freeze.

We froze some in a freezer container and some in these awesome ice cream cool comes my mom picked up at Tuesday Morning.
They are pretty cool. You add ice cream, juice, pudding, or other stuff and freeze. Then it's a push up!

Kids loved them and the treat!!!

Fall like summer days!

Today is nice.
The type of weather I adore and wish for it all year long....70 degrees.

So for lunch we built a bonfire in the back yard and used our new hot dog roaster and flipper that is like a fishing pole that grandpa "tommy" (that's what Breck has been calling him) got for the kids while in his fishing trip.

So we made hotdogs and for dessert s'mores! It was so fun!
The kids claim"this was the best say ever"!

I agree!

Fresh berries

Today we took a trip to the Dassel Hillside Farm to pick strawberries!

Mitch Ellery and Calvin each filled up an ice cream bucket full of red berries,
While Breck ate em'

The also saw the fish in a small pond and their friendly cat Socks!

Now to bake with them....
Deserts to come!!
