End of the summer traditions....

Today was the last "official" day of summer fun at auntie Hannah's house
{I start work next week, but will still have the kids all day Thursday & Friday next week & then after school Wednesdays, Thursday's & Friday's for the school year}

So to celebrate
we had a FUN DAY!
This a.m I told them to make a map of places they want to go today.
We would go to each place for 20 minutes, then off to the next!
{I had a surprise place we were going to visit not on the map}
Here is their map:
So off we went out to the "farm"
now called "Julian's Farm"

Breck enjoyed the chickens!
Stuck his fingers in the cage, booocked like a chicken, and walked like a chicken
{see video}

Cal loved the goats!
Chasing them away....

While his patient sister tried to get them to come closer to feed them!

Then off to see the miniature horses...
then a short walk around the old farm yard.
I told them about my old chicken coop fort,
the wild cats that we called pets & named:
Corney, {was my cat}named after corn because a). he was yellow and orange b). I found him in the corn! duhh right.
Wizard, the cat with half a tail.
and Shadow, who eventually went home with my aunt for many years.
They thought this was awesome. So did I when I was a kid. So many memories on the farm.

Trip to "Julian's Farm" ended quickly after we found a mouse by our feet,
and the thought of snakes...uck.
The kids even asked if I was scared....I replied "no" but let's go to our next destination! ha ha
This was our surprise!
Park View Cafe for a chocolate shake
has turned into a end of the summer tradition!
and the best part...

that had the kids giggling...

was that we were there for breakfast shakes!!! 10:00 am
We promised not to tell anyone wink wink.

Back to the map,
and off to Prairie Park
a
summer
favorite!

It was warm, and we all played hard!
If you asked Breck if he was done swinging,
he would say
Nooooooo.

Time to go.
Pick up G'ma so she could treat us to lunch at ?  ?  ?
PARK VIEW
again!
They thought it would be funny to not tell g'ma we already were here and had a shake, so they could have a second one....
but, little people can't keep secrets very well
and within minutes our secret was out!

we ate lunch and were all part of the clean plate club!
Chicken strips GONE

Hamburger...GONE

A variety of food...GONE!

THANKS g'ma for treating us to lunch!

Then I told them to put their tongues in her ears...
they tried,
and were unsuccessful! ha ha!

We also ran to Greenhill know known as 2 Chicks
so I could buy a gift for my newest baby niece Jetta.
We are meeting her tonight..can't wait!
I love buying those homemade gifts from there and buy them for friends whenever I can!
Plus, I loved putting Breck in those hats when he was a baby...i miss that!

I made Breck try on the new hat and bib!
He tried to rip it off...
but pretty sure he gave me the thumbs up on a good gift for his new cousin.

within' five minutes from home,
I found Breck zonked out...
and the kids faking it!

Pretty sure we all had a fun day, great way to remember the summer!
Calvin's favorite part about today: Finding the mouse, actually seeing the horses.
Ellery's favorite part about today: Feeding the goats, and seeing a mouse.

Four down, none to go....

This past weekend was my lil' brother's wedding!
The last of the four of us kids to marry.
{who would have thought, he would be walking down the aisle}
but he found the perfect wife,
for the perfect day,
to have a perfect wedding!

here's the day:
His two cutie nieces
Miss Maizy Mae
&
Miss Ellery Grace
All dazzled up for the wedding!
It was a wedding weekend in St.Cloud and we were SO LUCKY to have the best sitter with us!
She is a gem.
and NO you can't borrow her to babysit :) She is ours.
Me and my boy got a little snuggle time.

Mother & my brother
Maizy wasn't sure about walking by herself so she walked with her handsome daddy.

Beautiful day on the golf course
Bride & father

Sweet, short ceremony.
Perfect.

The get away car!

The night was in full swing: open bar, dance, friends and family!
The kids were busy playing outside on the big hill
RUNNING, then sliding down, ON THEIR BELLIES!
Grass stains much.
They dared Uncle Ty Ty to do it.....
can you guess what happened next?????

Running...........

sliding...........

successful!
grass stains on his arms and buttons,
kids cheering,
and the rest of us in tears laughing!

It was an awesome day
Now they are in Vegas for some honeymooning!
Love you both
and
congrats

Crazy in love...

with my CRAZY sixteen month old.
Here are some of the things he does
that crack us up...
and keep him busy...
has never really minded wearing hats since he was a baby,
and still loves it.
Wears hard hats and runs around saying choo choo {like a train}
wears buckets on his head,
and takes out all my Tupperware and utensils for hours of play,
stirs then pretends to eat out of the bucket while making slurping noises!
Has a mind of his own and insists on having his toys ON the couch to ride them.
Here he is with his rocket, but sometimes it's his lawn mower, shovel and everything else!
He says "uPP"
He is on the go from morning to night!
and this was bedtime. All he wanted was his dad and I wanted a picture of him in his new p.j's
He's grown so much! Had to go buy 24 month p.j's {although the waist is a bit large}

Now he's happy, because he is with is daadaa.
It melts me to see these two together!

He just loves this big guy!
Hopefully he will miss me when I'm at work and he goes to daycare...
and I get big hugs at the end of the night!

and kisses too!
Wet, slobbery, kisses are the best!

My little guy, is a BIG eater!
When he wakes up he is ready for food.
This morning was powdered dounuts!
yummmmmmmmmmmy.

sweet sweet summer time

This summer has gone by wayyyyyyy to fast.
No fun.
We have stayed busy this last week by working around the house.
I WAS going to mow the lawn, but Mitch decided to do it for me ;) THANK you THANK you.
Instead I started staining the deck, a two year project that hasn't been touched!
It took me three sweaty hot hours to finish....then I ran out of stain and called it a day.
I hope to finish next week before I return to work.

We have spent many summer afternoons in the cool air conditioning
reading books, playing, baking, eating.

this is a picture of my sweet little boy above

then there is my little dare devil below
He loves to climb everything, jump, hide behind the curtain, run run run.

Oh, how I will miss this terribly when I have to start work.
We have spent even more summer days outside
{especially these last few weeks when the weather has been amazing}
playing in the driveway, bike rides, walks, lemonade stands.
The kids earned 14.00 at one of their lemonade stands and decided to donate
10.00 to Mitch who is doing the triathlon for Miracles of Mitch this next Saturday,
and the other 4.00 we spent at the DQ
We have also spent sometime at the Willmar water park
a.m.a.z.i.n.g
place to spend the afternoon
{lets hope Litch gets the funds/donations to someday build their water park}
He is so not afraid of the water.
Goes under the fountain,
dunks his head in the water!
Oh sweet summer time.
How I will miss you...
but will enjoy the next two weeks until we say goodbye to summer for another year.
