Watercade weekend 2011

Watercade kickoff begins Monday with the medallion hunt:

where crazy adult people {I won't mention any names uh hmm} scavenge through town {kids in tow} looking for this:

Thursday night we went to the Center Bank brat feed to eat FREE brats, chips, cheese, and root beer! mmmm,

kids dance,

see pretty much EVERYONE in town!

This was also the beginning of a HOT weekend.

Every years weekend of Watercade is warm, muggy, rainy, making it hard to participate in all the fun,

but we do it anyways!

Friday DAY the kids played in the sprinklers,

while it watered our much needed flowers & newly seeded grass {that isn't surviving}.

Fun in the sun.

It's the only time I can get them out of the A/C house for ten minutes! I don't blame them when it's ninety plus degrees.

Oh, and by the way.

Thursday night, our A/C went out!!!

Just in time for the weekend & friends visiting with their two children.

{I don't normally let Breck run around in his "speedo" aka little swimmers..we usually swimming trunks}

luckily.

we have a wonderful friend who helped fix it, quick & reasonable. Need someone like that? let me know!

THANK YOU times a million {wife who is reading this...let him know :)}

Although the house got WARM, understatement.

We spent time outside at a friends pool, in the sprinkler & in the crab pool.

We survived!

And it was fixed by 9 pm that night!

Friday NIGHT:

The Selly's arrived and we went to a friends house on the lake to hang out and visit.

The kids got to meet puppies: 8 labradoodles

Then a boat ride back to my parents house,

douse ourselves in bug spray,

sit on the pontoon tied to the dock,

watch the fireworks, {Breck was interested for 2.4 seconds}

home,

Breck in bed {3 hours later then normal. And didn't we pay for that by Monday}

Saturday:

The hubbies went out fishing in the contest, {they each caught a fish even though it was considered a minnow}

Us & kids, usually walk but took a year off. Instead went to my parents house & let them swim!

Home for naps.

Birthday party for my mom!

Parade. {SOooo stinkin' hot, but had a nice place under a tree.  Breck sat in his wagon with his friend Paizli for the whole parade besides the last 20 minutes} he LOVED it.

Home.

Breck in bed. {at almost a normal time}

We bonfire in the heat. FUN, but not fun, but FUN to hang out with friends.

Sunday:

Woke up.

Said our goodbyes to the Selly's {hate it, wish the weekend wouldn't have gone so fast. miss them}

Then went and took family pictures at the farm. {on my next post}

We came home by early afternoon and spent the rest of the day inside relaxing.

Jerod get's out his guitar whenever Breck is fussy to entertain him {and it works}.

We were going to go to bed early

BUT

a storm was coming through with severe weather,

so we didn't want to put Breck to bed until the weather cleared,

and it did finally at 10:30 pm {another late night}

Safe to bed.

After a WONDERFUL weekend.

Can not wait till next year to do it all again!

Besides the fact we are STILL trying to get back on schedule and I have a cranky pants :)

worth it.
